Preparing for Steubenville Retreat 2024

If Jesus was a brand?

Dear Parents of High School Kids,

This time at the Superbowl, which apart from the game, and its halftime spectacular, also is a launching pad for new ads from the most popular brands, witnessed the ad for the Christian Hallow app, to my surprise! Here is the Superbowl ad for lent, that has caused millions to download the app. (Don’t miss the ad featuring Jonathan Roumie, from “The Chosen”)

Being in the branding by profession, I have never thought that Jesus ever needed marketing! But now I feel the world needs to know him, and we may need to be bombastic in the way we project and spread our faith. This is what even Steubenville Catholic Conferences do for our kids.

Faith is an experience, that needs to be encountered…. I had this good fortune when I attended a retreat while at college (way back 30 years back)

Most of my upbringing has been in India, and our church, and school community had a big part in building our faith. But my kids, growing up here in the US, and going to public schools, were very privileged as they received help from our church and our prayer group.

We had the good fortune of Geetha Fernandes and a few others from our prayer group who had been taking our youngsters to Steubenville for the past several years.

Last year (Clara, I was the female chaperone) and Rudolph Serrao (our male chaperone) took 11 of us to the Steubenville conference and the experience was transformational (for all of us)

The first few hours of our drive to the conference, we understood that all the kids that came for the conference were following orders from their parents, they were all so sweet and respectful. But when we drove them back- the drive back home was totally different. All the kids loved the experience, they were so open and willing to try to get to the next level of the relationship with our God. There was not one minute that they were not fully engaged!

You may ask why and how. Here at Steubenville the way they design the program and the way they deliver the message is really a style that makes the kids open to the message willingly. There is a kind of professional, branding, authenticity, openness, and style, that is not noticed very often in any other retreat… the Steubenville folks know to talk the talk and walk the walk….for our youth.

The videos below are from the sessions that we personally were in, and you will know how it is well formatted and designed towards our youth, the conference like feel, in a stardom-stadium feel of likeminded folks who seek for the same thing, “Faith and Openness.”

There is a proper program together with boys and girls and one part is when they have a men's and a women's session separately. (videos included below)

Enjoy the videos, and we encourage you to register your kids, it gives you an idea of what to expect.
